Nearly forgot!

Coming to the end of a wintry week I haven't really done much! I have continued with my model Sherman and LCM3, bought "The Art of Crochet" magazine and started the square that it tells you how to do, but I still haven't finished my Cath Kidston bag!

Here's hoping I remember to finish it next week!

Ok, so it's been a while since I last posted. Maybe I should actually set aside time for this.

My latest craft project has been the bag from the Cath Kidston book "Sew!". The book comes with the fabric and buttons to make the bag on the front cover. It also comes with a Cath Kidston label to sew on. I have nearly finished it; I have only to complete two more buttonholes on the strap :)

The book also comes with a pattern sheet for the projects, from which you trace off the shapes that you need for each project. It is a lovely book and is well recommended.

Hopefully I will remember to write something next week!

Looking for patterns for soft toys

I was looking for patterns for soft toys, when I came across these couple of pages.

This is for those of you who like Linux: http://www.free-penguin.org/

And this is an oh-so-cute Scottie dog: http://allsorts.typepad.com/allsorts/2006/05/softie_scotty_d.html?cid=125711404#comment-125711404

Ikea ideas

I've just seen this blog: http://ikeahacker.blogspot.com/ on blogs of note and I love the ideas. I think it's great that you can take Ikea stuff and make it your own, often quite easily.

Inspirational websites

I have come across a couple of inspirational websites while on the search for sewing ideas. One is called Freeneedle (http://www.freeneedle.com/) and is a huge directory of free patterns, so is a good starting point. There's probably a pattern for anything you could think of, although I haven't checked that out!

Another is Savvyseams (http://www.savvyseams.com/index.php). This doesn't have as many patterns and no longer is being updated, but there are some useful resources on there.

Considering the time, I think that will be all for now!

Papercraft bags...

I have tried to keep my papercraft/card making goodies in one bag, however, recently I have not managed. Having managed to blag a good sewing machine for my birthday, I did try to make a tote bag big enough to hold it all, but I didn't have my stash to hand so I didn't quite succeed!

However, I did see this bag:

and thought it would be about big enough, but I don't think my husband would let me splash quite that much money out on it! So I thought I could make one similar; tweak it a bit to suit my needs. I'll update once I've got a design.

My first post!

Hi everyone,

I currently live in Bath, UK and it rains a lot! I enjoy a lot of craft, and I have gained quite a bit of inspiration from other people's blogs, so I'd thought I'd write one of my own. Writing this blog might also give me a bit of motivation to actually finish a few things, too!

I hope I can make this blog interesting!
